NucleoDx® Tris-EDTA buffer is a commonly used buffer solution in molecular biology and has been extensively used for various applications. The Tris component of the TE buffer acts as a buffering agent, maintaining a stable pH range. EDTA, on the other hand, serves as a chelating agent that binds and removes divalent metal ions such as magnesium and calcium from the solution, thereby inhibiting the activity of nucleases that can degrade DNA or RNA.

Tris-EDTA buffer is supplied as a ready-to-use solution, usually free from bacteria, RNase, and DNA contamination. It usually has a pH of 8 at room temperature.

TE buffer (Tris-EDTA buffer) is a widely used buffer solution in molecular biology and genetics research. Its intended use is to provide an appropriate pH and ion strength environment for various protocols, including DNA and RNA isolation, nucleic acid storage, agarose gel electrophoresis, PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) amplification, DNA sequencing, DNA and RNA gel staining. It is also used for the preparation of DNA or RNA samples for long-term storage or transportation.
