HLA-B27 real-time PCR is clinically important for the early and accurate diagnosis of spondyloarthropathies, especially ankylosing spondylitis, where HLA-B27 shows a strong genetic association. It supports differential diagnosis in patients with chronic back pain, uveitis, reactive arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease associated arthritis.
