Dengue Genotyping
Real Time PCR Kit
Dengue Genotyping Real-Time PCR Kit is a multiplex, TaqMan probe-based qualitative assay for the specific detection and differentiation of Dengue and its serotypes DENV1, DENV2, DENV3, & DENV4 in human Plasma, serum and whole blood. This kit detects Dengue viral targets along with Human internal control in a two tube format with RNA as template.

Intended Use
DENV is classified into four distinct serotypes (Dengue 1, 2, 3 & 4) based on differences in their viral structural and non-structural proteins. Infection with one serotype provides lifelong immunity against that particular serotype. However, subsequent infection with a different
serotype can lead to severe dengue hemorrhagic fever due to a phenomenon called antibody-dependent enhancement.
Dengue epidemics tend to have seasonal patterns, with transmission often peaking during and after rainy seasons. There are several factors contributing to this increase and they include high mosquito population levels, susceptibility to circulating serotypes, favourable air
temperatures, precipitation, and humidity, all of which affect the reproduction and feeding patterns of mosquito populations, as well as the dengue virus incubation period.
